Why almost everyone should do network marketing?

I used to think network marketing was not for me. I believe there are many reading this right now who have the same thoughts as I had sometime back. In this post I will share with you why almost everyone should do network marketing. I adapt this from Ray Higdon, a very successful network marketer (you should check him out if you’re already into network marketing or thinking about it).

So why network marketing?

Network marketing is a business opportunity that has a low startup, low overhead and low investment, making it a low-risk investment. It also has so many leverage areas within it. You get to leverage the customer support, shipping department, research and development and training resources on someone else’s dime without you going through the pain of hiring and funding all those positions and learning all those processes.

This does not mean I believe everyone should do network marketing.

Who should consider network marketing?

All sales people.

Why do I say so? A few reasons:

  1. As a salesperson, there are more people you talk to that don’t buy your products than do. Wouldn’t it be cool if you have something to offer those who don’t buy from you yet you could make money with?
  2. MOST sales people get paid per transaction. They make a transaction; they get paid once. Last month’s hero is this month’s zero. If you are not making residual income from your sales, well, at some age it may not interest you to have to hustle to drum up more business but if you were getting paid over and over for each transaction, wouldn’t that be neat. IF you are in sales and NOT making any residual income that comes in long after the initial sale is made, just fast forward 20 years and see if you want to still be hustling as hard as you currently are.

Small business owners

The points for the sales people applies to small business owners as well and why they should do network marketing too. They get free marketing and team support for their business. Imagine being a fashion designer or beautician, many of your team mates would eventually come to you or refer you to others.

Students

Yes, you heard me, students should consider doing network marketing. The interesting thing is that, you don’t have to use all your time for it. Network marketing exposes you to a network of people across the globe.

Anyone who hates their job

How else will you get out of that job unless you create an additional income? Especially if you are low on money to invest in a business, network marketing is probably your best option. You don’t have to stay stuck like a tree in the ground in a situation you don’t want to be in.

So should these category of people listed above burn their bridges and dive head straight into network marketing? Not really. I’m suggesting building options. You don’t have to shift focus from your primary thing. Find a mentor that can point you to how to plug yourself into the system.

Who shouldn’t do network marketing?
  1. People who are easily affected by other’s opinions about them. It’s better to keep doing what you’re doing now if you can’t break the addiction to self image.
  2. People with unrealistic expectations. You probably didn’t easily hit $20,000 a month in your job or business, don’t expect it here either.
  3. People with negative attitudes. These people, unless they change or rehabilitated, don’t have a shot at network marketing success.
  4. People who know it all. To have success in network marketing, you must be ready to learn, unlearn and be coachable.
